As the Lakers return home, following a tumultuous road trip in which they dropped 3 of 5 games, some good news is to be had. Mitch Kupchak, the Lakers GM, today announced that All-Star guard Kobe Bryant has signed a three-year contract extension with the team. "We are extremely pleased that we were able t reach an agreement and come to terms on the extension at this time." said Kupchak. "Kobe has been a cornerstone of the Lakers for well over a decade, helping to lead us to four NBA Championships and in the process developing into one of the greatest players in basketball history."

Bryant is averaging 27.2 points, with 5.3 rebounds, and 5.1 assists on the season. He has spent his entire 14-year career in Purple and Gold.
